THE FOCUS ON HOUSING PROGRAM ADDRESSES THE GREATEST BARRIER TO SUCCESSFUL REENTRY…LACK OF A STABLE PLACE TO LIVE.

The One Stop Shop Focus on Housing Program began in 2019 when Program Director Lani Grodon identified homelessness and/or a lack of stable housing as the number one reason people cycle in and out of jail. In her proposal to expand programming, Lani simply stated “how can I help a person with successful reentry of they don’t have a place to live?” On that day, our housing program was born. The goal is simple: help each Focus on Housing client break the cycle of homelessness and incarceration. We do this by offering comprehensive housing services so that our program is a one stop shop for housing needs. Our services include:

• Housing assessments done inside and outside of the jail so that every person has access to housing opportunities

• Street outreach so our trained staff can locate new and existing clients who need help securing a safe place to live.

• Assistance with critical documents and paperwork that are necessary to the complete the housing process

• Housing navigation and case management to help each client find the right home and adapt to their living space.

Through the Focus on Housing Program every client has the opportunity to have a successful second chance at having a home.
